china 2007 - part 4

Here some more shots from the pretty girls.

A cute and sleepy Chinese dog. They all look similar to this one in china.

I zoomed this picture with my tele-lens, otherwise we would have been attacked again by the looonghaeeer ladies..whiii!
You can clearly see that they are on their way stalking some fresh tourists!!

Viewpoint quite high up in the mountains, enjoying the view and also chinese coke.

A beautifull pine tree, this would make a pretty bonsai if it wasn't so big..

We met this friendly pig and gave him some Oreo-cookies.

Holy tree in another mountain village

Weird mask, probably to keep the evil spirits away?

Cute old lady of the village...she kept on talking to us though we didnt understand a word from what she was saying.

Meeting with another lady and doggy. Watch the funny shoes they're wearing.

I thought this boy looked like a little monk, his hair totally shaved..

The thing he's eating is not candy... it's dried meat spiced with chilly!

The kids seemed to love this kind of stuff. S. tried a piece of it and told me it was really crazy spicy!!

S. sharing some Oreo-cookies with the local kids.

The cows walking the way up to the village.

People selling oranges at the side of the road. The air was filled with the scent of orange blossoms!

Transport like you see it all the time in China.

The really old town Daxu.
I found the scene fantastic, with only the red lampions giving a touch of colour to the grey streets.

Those are things we saw in the shop from a local medicine man...

You could buy there any ingredient for a true nightmare!
Not only snakes, but also rats, claws from almost any animal and other creepy stuff.
And the best thing is, that they use it really as medicine!

These are some kind of candles to use on the energetic points of your body..
Holding it to your forehead, ears, polses,.. would heal you from any pain.

This kind of vehicle we saw very often in China. It's truly strange, the thing you see in front is acctually the engine..

The girl with the red parasol! For me this was some kind of hyper-China-statement!

S. exploring the secrets of the strange machine.

This lady showed us her house,
it was very interesting because it must have been a very old house in the style they used to build in former times.

The red over-sleeves are onther very typical phenomen to protect their clothes to get dirty.
By the way this lady still wears the Mao-clothes. Many old people in China tend to do this..

The difference in length was almost shocking!

Cute decorated bonsai-arrangement.

Antique doors in front of a sort of atrium square in a traditional house.

And in one of the houses they kept a dragon on the attic!!

The beautifull geometric wood carvings in a door.

A traditional local hairdresser salon.

Bunch of schoolchildren on their schoolholiday.

Inside of these mountains are thousands of caves...

...looking like this! It was simply amazing!

Those were probably the most impressing caves I have ever seen!

You can almost not imagine how futuristic this looked: the elevator going into the cave.
Somehow it reminded me on Willie Wonka's chocolate factory!

There were lakes and rivers down in the caves! We made a boat trip in the caves, it was totally cool but also very dark!!
I felt like being in a huge magic labyrinth!

And everything was illuminated with fancy colours.

This part, looking like mushrooms or weird trees!

After almost 2 hours, we came out of the caves, walking our way back along the river Li.

Here, looking over the landscape, I realized that this was really another world. I have never seen a landcape that bizarre,
the mountains seems to suddenly rise up out of nowhere.

Encounters with cute waterbuffalo child.

A felt a lot of sympathy for those animals

hmm, no comment (I guess)

The masters in transport...
It can be even more extreme, sometimes I saw them sitting with 4 persons and a baby on one motorcycle..

Farmer with his loyal buffalo.
I was little shocked that he was working barefoot in the mud...I mean, it was really cold and so..

Watermill to irrigate the rice fields.

Shy girls in a little village.

Local shop/ bar..selling fireworks and drinks. Watch the posters..
You see Chinese moviestars..and Mao... :-(

Magical view over the mountains with an ideal bridge and pagoda.
